Greg Neuman is a 43 year old family man.  He has been married to his wife Sheila for 24 years and they have three sons: Joshua, Aaron and Andrew.

Greg is the founding Pastor of big church in Barrie Ontario.  Big church is a community minded church that desires to reach out beyond it’s walls to others and make a difference.  This is one of the reasons for the launch of Operation Rwanda.

Greg Neuman’s passion to reach out to others has brought him to countries such as India, Albania and Croatia to help in mission aid in times of need.  Greg is also a networker and has worked with various churches and organizations to develop programs to meet needs in the community.  Having started his own company (G. Neuman Cleaning) in earlier years as well as starting 2 churches (Gander, Newfoundland and Barrie, Ontario) Greg has developed leadership skills that will be used to oversee Operation Rwanda.

Some of Greg’s sayings that mark his life and passion are:
“Instead of cursing the darkness - light a candle”
“You can’t go wrong if you keep doing what is right”
“Get ur done!”

Greg’s desire to help others has been something that is seen in everything he does and Operation Rwanda is a part of that.

Andrew Neuman is 19 years old and is a third year electrical apprentice currently employed with Nu-tek Electrical.

Andrew is eager to get over to Rwanda and help with electrical, orphan feeding and setting up small businesses.  His past experience in overseas mission aid to India and Zambia contribute to his desire to help others less fortunate.

When Andrew was 14 years old he went with Teen Missions for the summer to India and helped build a school and work with orphan children.

At the age of 16 Andrew went with Teen Missions for the summer to Zambia and built a Resuce Unit in a remote tribal village.  A Rescue Unit is used for school, medical and a church.  They worked developing a feeding program for orphans as well as bringing socks and shoes to these same children.

Andrew’s passion and dream is to bring hope to the hopeless.  His experience in past mission trips has helped him to see how this can be done.  With Operation Rwanda he will have the opportunity to develop his dream further in the initiatives that this operation will bring to Rwanda.

At eight years old, Andrew’s Dad returned from a trip to India where he saw poverty and hopelessness and was able to work to help bring change.  It was at this time that the desire was sparked in Andrew to help make a difference in this world.  Andrew said “I may not be able to do everything but I can do something to change this world”.

Evan Thompson is a 20 year old aspiring musician who shares a passion for song-writing and playing his guitar. Evan hopes to invoke change by sharing the different experiences that he faces overseas through his music.

At the age of 17, Evan decided that he wanted to go overseas to give assistance to those in need. His first mission changed his life when he went to Zambia to help build a school for over 300 orphan children. Evan had originally intended to make that trip a one time ordeal.  However, an experience with a small Zambian boy shed light on how fortunate he is to live in a country like Canada.  This experience changed the direction of Evan’s life and filled him with a desire to help those who are much less fortunate than he is.

Evan feels an obligation in his heart towards Rwanda after learning of the country’s devastating history regarding the 1994 genocide and is eager to go to Africa and do his part to help those in need.
